Privacy Policy

TrialBoost maintains a registry of people who have asked to hear about clinical research opportunities. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can leave.

Who we are, and who we are not

TrialBoost is not a doctor, a hospital, a research site, a study sponsor, or a contract research organization. We do not conduct clinical studies, we do not screen anyone for participation in a study, and we do not decide who takes part in one. We maintain a registry and introduce interested people to research organizations, which then make their own decisions under their own rules.

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us: name, email address, mobile phone number, ZIP code, and year of birth.
  • Health interests you select: broad areas of health you want to hear about, and optionally your sex at birth, whether you have taken part in research before, and how far you would travel.
  • Consent records: the exact wording you agreed to, which boxes you ticked, and the date, time, IP address, and browser you used when you agreed. We keep this so we can show what you agreed to.
  • Message activity: the text messages we send you and any replies, so we can honor your preferences and stop when you tell us to.
  • Information from partners: if you previously asked a health or research website to be contacted about research, that website may have shared your contact details and the record of your consent with us. Our first message to you always identifies us and always tells you how to opt out.

Health-related information

When you join our registry you may tell us which areas of health you are interested in hearing about. We treat that as consumer health data. We collect it only to describe your interests to research organizations. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it to advertisers or data brokers.

Who we share it with

We share the information you provide with research organizations, clinical research sites, and their service providers, so they can tell you about research opportunities and ask whether any of them fit. Those organizations contact you directly and conduct their own screening under their own regulatory obligations. We do not control what they do with the information after we share it, and their own privacy policies apply to their handling of it.

We also use service providers who help us operate, such as our text messaging provider and our hosting provider. They may only use your information to provide those services to us.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people.

Text messages and calls

If you agreed to be contacted by phone, TrialBoost and the research organizations we share your information with may text or call you, including with autodialed or prerecorded messages. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of taking part in any research. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving messages from us. Reply HELP for help. Mobile opt-in information is not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

You may also ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will confirm your request and act on it within the time your state allows. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s consumer privacy or consumer health data laws, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

When you withdraw, we stop contacting you and we stop sharing your information with anyone new. Research organizations we already shared your information with will have their own records, so you may also want to contact them directly.

How long we keep it

We keep your registry record while you remain a member and for 24 months afterwards. We keep records of your consent and any withdrawal for 5 years, so we can show what you agreed to and when.

How we protect it

Your contact details are encrypted where we store them. Access is limited to people who need it, and access is logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat this information as sensitive and handle it accordingly.

Children

The TrialBoost registry is for adults. You must be 18 or older to join. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we learn we have.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell you before it takes effect.
